In this article we tell you more about; maintaining a chandelier.

What is meant by ‘maintaining’ a chandelier?

By maintenance we mean the regular and expert checking, cleaning, repair and/or replacement (of parts) of chandeliers, wall lamps and ceiling lamps. Most chandelier maintenance companies – including us! – visit you to initially check the lighting. It is then made concrete what needs to be done to leave the lamp in good condition. Especially if you have an older, antique chandelier or lamp in your house, it is wise to pay extra attention to maintenance.

Tips to maintain a chandelier

How can you best maintain your chandelier yourself? The following tips will help you keep your chandelier as clean as possible.

  1. Ventilate your room daily. This will prevent the build-up of dirt and dust on the chandelier. This will make your chandelier less dull.
  2. Clean the floor regularly. What is on the floor can end up in the air due to movement and wind and with it on the chandelier. Prevent this by cleaning the floor weekly.
  3. Keep the air clean. Smoke and grease from cooking can form a deposit on your chandelier. Therefore, try not to smoke near your lighting and preferably do not place it too close to a kitchen.
  4. Dust the chandelier! In addition to the above, it is also good to dust the chandelier weekly with a soft cloth/plume.

Of course, the above steps are not enough to keep the chandelier clean and thus to maintain it. Because as we mentioned in the text above, ‘maintenance’ is much more than that. And that’s not everyone’s favorite job. We can therefore imagine that you would like to outsource this.
